Do you ever feel mischievous? Maybe a grin creeps across your face and your ears begin to flap and your eyes say “hehe haha, I am doing Mischief.” No? You’re lying, but that’s ok. I won’t tell anybody :D
Earlier in the spring, I became internet acquaintances with Twabbis, who seems like a very chill dude. He sculpted something he called a “mischievous man,” and then did it again on the computer. Now there’s tons of them floating around, but pictured below are the original and digital versions of the man in question..
Look at those stinkers.
As has been the way lately, there was a challenge to make some mischief of your own, in the #firstandpossiblylastdessicateddopeoff and me being me, I couldn’t resist. I love being a scamp, and with the OWAC being a long-haul project, I need little pallet cleansers to misbehave on. A little deviousness goes a long way.
Also, I found these 7th/6th century gorgon masks on Tumblr. They reminded me of the guy from the thing. Also, BLACK MOTH SUPER RAINBOW reminds me of the guy. Not sure why, but it do.
Hi
These are the little guys I made. I sculpted them with a pen so that I wouldn’t fuss too much with the details. Economies of time are horrible, speaking as a cartoonist, and so I wanted to prevent myself from spending the wrong kinds of energy for this sneaky pantleg turd of a mischief. You’ll note, mischievous men come in multiple sizes.

This is the trash I used to make them. The headphones are my favorite color of orange.
Eventually I had some men
You’ll note that mischievous men come in multiple sizes. The biggest of them is Grampa, and he is as tall as a sharpie, and stole his teeth from a crooner.
Then I covered them in goo, and also paint.
I really wanted to keep the limitations on with the paint job, since I’d intentionally sculpted the models to be low on detail but big on expression. Four paints were used in total: black, white, and two blues. It was important for some reason that the men all look like they’re wearing clown makeup that’s gone bad. Maybe they’re clowns? Or Ghosts? I’m not entirely sure.
I think (but do not quote me) Twab had talked about a mischievous game that could be played with the men, which is good because I can’t think of many settings into which one might release these freaks. Maybe one of Wargamingpastor’s games like
MELT28 would be a fun fit. They’re certainly goopy enough.
