The Quiet March - The Darkness Approaches

Emerging from the edge of the Great Marsh, the Necromancer Gneil the Unreformed cackles as his army assembles for war. Those village gnomes will pay for the ridicule they poured upon him in his youth, when he was caught trying to use Keebler magic for raising the dead, (which obviously wouldn't work. Everyone knows that!) Now, on the eve of his revenge, he's proven them all wrong! Sure, all the naysayers are long dead, (perverting the magic of his people took longer than expected,) but their descendants will see! They'll all see!!!

Gneil the Unreformed, hot for revenge and gleeful as all get out.
Gneil's mindless minion, the Terrible Frankengnome

The backbone of the undead horde are these skeletal halberdiers, who sound silent horns to coordinate their battle lines.

Ancestors of the village magi were prepared for burial with mummification, and their bandages still hold some of that raw primal magic.

The dredged cannon and its grim attendants.

Spectral Soldiers of past generations join the march.

A Vampire Lord joins the party in hopes of slaking an unquenchable thirst.

The pillbug lancers, readying their weapons for battle. They're much less fearsome in the daylight, but no less deadly.
Beware, Beware, the dead do creep.
From shallow graves to quiet keep.
They sharpen wicked little blades
and seek you out to make your graves.
